ATLANTA — Alex Guthrie and his band will embark on a 2018 Summer Tour featuring Guthrie’s southern-blues sound coupled with his soulful voice.  The tour will begin with two shows at Atlanta’s Eddie’s Attic on Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, May 27, and conclude with a final show in Destin, FL on Tuesday, August 28. Guthrie is also expected to play several new tracks from his upcoming (in-progress) album while on tour — the release of a new EP is scheduled for Fall 2018. Guthrie’s band includes bass player Jonathan Norwood, drummer Dave Ragsdale and keyboardist Adam Holliday.

Additional tour stops include: New York City, NY; Nashville, TN; Chicago and Winnetka, IL (Winnetka Music Festival); Milwaukee, WI (Milwaukee SummerFest); Birmingham, AL; Vienna and Richmond, VA; Eagle and Aspen, CO; Davenport, Iowa City and DeMoines, IA; Smyrna and Morganton, GA; and Santa Rosa Beach, Saint George Island and Destin, FL. Full tour details here.

In addition, on Tuesday, July 17, Guthrie and his band will play at the Coca-Cola Roxy for the Arby’s Foundation Dream Big Atlanta event.  The benefit concert brings the community together to support the Foundation's childhood hunger, youth development and career readiness initiatives. Funds raised through ticket sales and the silent auction will go to the Arby’s Foundation to support local organizations striving to make a difference in the lives of Atlanta’s youth. Additional performers to be announced.

And on Saturday, August 11, Guthrie and his band will play at the Georgia Power Pavilion at Suntrust Park. Following their performance, Guthrie will sing the National Anthem for the Atlanta Braves v. Milwaukee Brewers game that evening at 7:10pm.

“I can’t begin to express just how thrilled I am to head out on tour with the band,” said Alex Guthrie. “I’m thankful to have had American Family Insurance support my dreams this past year, making so much of this tour possible. It’s going to be a great experience to share my music — old and new — with everyone along the way!”

Blending a soulful combination of vocals and story-rich lyrics, Guthrie has created a synergy of 70s, southern blues bands through an infusion of R&B, soul, folk and rock. He is most recently noted for his role in the American Family Insurance commercial alongside singer Jennifer Hudson. Guthrie and his band have performed events including Milwaukee’s SummerFest, which was also featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Music. as well as the 30A Songwriter’s Festival in Florida. He recently played the Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta; Wire and Wood Songwriter Festival in Alpharetta, GA; Jammin’ Java listening room in Vienna, VA; Elbo Room in Chicago, IL; and sold-out shows at the famed Eddie’s Attic in Atlanta, GA. Guthrie has opened for national touring artists including Atlantic Records recording artist Kelly Clarkson, RCA recording artist Bleachers and famous BMLG Records recording artist Drake White.

In February, Guthrie released his new single, "Is it Me” — a prelude to his in-process, new album. The new song was recorded and engineered by Zac Brown Band founding member John Driskell Hopkins at Hopkins’ studio, Brighter Shade Studios. Guthrie’s debut album, Lessons Learned, was released in 2014. The new album is expected to be complete in late Spring 2018.  “Is it Me” is now available for download wherever your music is available, including iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal and more. Watch a preview of the new song here.
